Former world champion Michael Schumacher will return to the cockpit of Ferrari's single seater early next month as the 2007 testing season ends at Jerez.
The 38-year-old tested for the first time in earnest since retiring at Circuit de Catalunya recently, impressing observers by setting the pace as the sport gets accustomed to life without electronic aids like traction control.
"After so many years together we are accustomed to facing situations like these with Michael. He will be driving at Jerez on 4 December," Luca Baldisserri, Ferrari's head of track activities, told the Turin-published Italian newspaper La Stampa.
"We have asked him to put his helmet back on because F1 has gone back to taking away the electronic aids.
"Drivers today use the accelerator like a button - press it and let the software do the rest.

Now they have to learn another way," he added.
At the end of the bitter espionage affair with McLaren, meanwhile, Baldisserri admitted to being 'slightly bothered' about having to now use the new McLaren developed ECU in 2008 and beyond.
"On the one hand we must protect the confidentiality of our data and on the other try to make it (the ECU) work better," he said when asked about working with MES technicians.

More than a year after his retirement, seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher stole the show on Tuesday, setting the pace, as F1's first post-season test kicked off in Barcelona.
At precisely 9:01am, the Schumacher rolled onto Circuit de Catalunya in a Ferrari, and by lunch he was trailing only McLaren's Pedro de la Rosa for the quickest lap. A banner in the grandstand read: ‘Schumi, we've missed you so much’.
Later in the day, Schumacher improved his own best time and moved to the head of the timesheets with a best lap of 1:21.922s two-tenths clear of regular Ferrari tester Luca Badoer.
De la Rosa ended the first day of testing with the third fastest time for McLaren with former DTM champion also in action for the Woking-based squad with the sixth fastest.
Heikki Kovalainen may not know where he is racing next season, but today the Finn was back on track with the Renault squad, setting the fifth fastest time ahead of the leading BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica and Paffett.
Kazuki Nakajima, now confirmed in the race seat with Williams Toyota for next year, was next up in seventh position ahead of David Coulthard in the Red Bull Renault. Jarno Trulli was ninth for Toyota, despite feeling unwell, ahead of Nick Heidfeld, Nico Rosberg and Franck Montagny.

Over at Toro Rosso Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel was joined by Champ Car star Sebastian Bourdais for the first time, recording the 13th and 15th best times respectively. GP2 front-runner Andreas Zuber split the Toro Rosso duo in his all-white Honda. Anthony Davidson was back on track for Super Aguri Honda with the 16th best time ahead of James Rossiter running this week for the works Honda team.
Karun Chandhok made his F1 test debut with Red Bull Renault, setting the 18th best time ahead of Force India, formerly Spyker, which powered onto the Spanish venue with the 2007 car re-painted from orange to white and burgundy, and team owner Vijay Mallya's 'Fly Kingfisher' sponsor logos appear to have been switched from the Toyota garage to a new home. Giedo van der Garde and Roldan Rodriguez brought up the bottom of the timesheets.

As a host of guest riders tested the Grand Prix machinery at the Spanish circuit following the conclusion of the 2007 season, the former F1 champion came close to just five seconds off Valencia winner Dani Pedrosa's fastest lap at the end of his 58-lap test.
Schumacher, 38, wearing a plain orange riding suit and white helmet, proved radically improved since his Ducati test in 2005; fully leaning into the corners and putting to good effect the tips of experts he consulted in the pits.
"I remember the last time I was riding and I was about 15 seconds slower than what you could do, so I thought maybe if I could run within ten seconds, that would nice," he said afterwards in Spain, according to Motorcycle News.

Following wild theories that he might replace Fernando Alonso at McLaren next year, meanwhile, he also fended off speculation that he could be good enough to race in MotoGP.
"I'm just doing this for fun. I don't want to race," Schumacher insisted.
He also played down any comparison between MotoGP and Formula One.
"It is like being on earth and going to the moon," Schumacher smiled.

What a sad title don't you think? That's what I'm feeling right now.
I'm sad. 
I have this "tampo" (no better english translation) inside me that I've been keeping for quite some time. And finally, I realize I had to let it out. Or my heart would burst if i didn't.
Well, I can't say my "tampo" directly and so I'm writing this.
You know, I've asked myself many many many times. A million times maybe.
Am I a good friend??? If you request some things/favors that you don't want to be identified with or that it came from you, and I did it...will you consider me a good friend?
If you picked a fight and I fight for you at all cost, to the extent that I'm the one who gets the heat...I've been with you in good times and in bad...will you consider me a good friend?
But when it's my own fight, I fight alone. Where were you? You made me believed that you have done something for me, which was none.
If you have done something good or you made success. And you have received an accolade/recognition for them. Is it I the first one to give congratulations and be the most happy person for you...will you consider me a good friend?
If you need someone to talk to, need some advise and I lend you ear, understanding and give you the best advise based from own experiences...will you consider me a good friend?
Yeah, I admit, the only thing I'm short with, was the dept of my pocket. I know, not all the time I have funds as deep as yours. But everytime you call and need me, I'm there...will you consider me a good friend?

Here's the funny thing. I read those lines from the letter of my best friend lady househelp. It's her love letter to her best friend (another househelp from the neighbor). Of course, I've translated them to english na you silly people you. Hahahahahaha.
Please forgive me for prying to those private stuffs, but I'm a friend to Manangs (as she is fondly called in my best friend home) too. She ask me things about friendship while she wrote those words. In between sobs. And she let me read it after she's done.
FYI and modesty aside, I am a friend to the Manangs, Manongs, Indays, Dongs, the hardineros, the gwardiyas and the draybers too to some of my richy rich best friends.
I don't know why, but I'm at peace talking to those people. I guess that's the people person that I am. I'm not choosy who to befriend with.

Point to ponder...let us be more appreciative to our friends of what they can and will do for us.
